Antonis Mavropoulos

Antonis Mavropoulos is a Chemical Engineer and he holds an Advanced Management degree from IESE Business School. He has been involved to waste management since 1994. He has completed more than 150 projects in 15 different countries and he has worked as an Associated Researcher of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). He is the author of several scientific and technical papers dedicated to different waste management issues, especially to regional planning, risk assessment, landfill design and treatment issues. He also curates the blog Wasteless Future.

Richard Allen, SWANA President

Richard Allen

Richard H. Allen has worked in the solid waste field for more than 24 years and for the Salt River Landfill for the last 20.5 years. Mr. Allen has been a SWANA member since 1994 and has served on the Arizona Chapter’s Board of Directors since 1996, including as the International Board Representative and Region I Director since 2006. He has been heavily involved in the preparation of educational materials for SWANA and is certified in both the Manager of Landfill Operations and Bioreactor courses. He has been an instructor for Manager of Landfill Operations and other SWANA training courses. He served as the Chairman of the International Road-E-O Committee for the last several years. Mr. Allen is a registered professional engineer in civil engineering for the state of Arizona. Mr. Allen has Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
